Competitor Behavior Survey forecast
Dear,
I am conducting a short survey of the ways in which the companies plan (if you do), in practice, the behavior of competitors and the importance assigned to this task. Although not do good to answer a few questions (only three or four) and that allows us to take out the bias of having only companies which provide behavior:
To complete the survey in English for Please click to go to

você falar português is to prune enchérir to research pre-em: http://www
.kwiksurveys.com / online-survey.php? survey = KKOKOF_ac98af71
Thus conclusions will help me a little more space than I have with my clients and students.
The survey takes no more than 10 or 15 minutes (there are 15 multiple choice questions with 11, 2 with only contact details in case you want to answer and only 2 with open answer). The reason why I'm doing this survey is that I'm writing an article for an academic journal.
None of the questions required to provide sensitive information about the company they work for, so there is no barrier to respond from that point of view. Obviously
who answer and let your email in the survey will receive a summary of the survey and write the article.
I think it's fair to say that I am testing the following software because it is very easy to use and it's free. So let's give publicity to the software because I believe it deserves.

Best regards and thank you very much to those who complete the survey. Adrian Alvarez Lic

Do They Still Make Ranch Fritos?
Article About Strategic Groups in the Meta-analysis of
Dear readers,
The Meta-analysis published another article of mine on strategic groups. The continuation of the article, hopefully be of interest to you.
Adrian Alvarez, Founding Partner of Midas Consulting, explains how the model used to analyze industries where there are many competitors.
A model for analyzing industries where there are many competitors
No matter where I give lectures (Argentina, Brazil, Panama, Chile, etc.). Does not really matter who I give lessons (military, MBA students, entrepreneurs managers, etc.). usually nobody knows what are the groups strategic.
Actually, this is regrettable, since it is a useful concept to analyze an industry and its trends, especially when there are many competitors. So let's consider this issue in this article.
The strategic groups were the subject of the doctoral thesis of Hunt in 1972 and became popular thanks to the book 'Competitive Strategy', by Michael Porter.
Consider, then, that they are of the strategic groups :
The strategic groups are a number of companies in the same industry that follow similar strategies in some way (for example, companies multinational soft drinks follow similar strategies in relation to the distribution, as bottlers use, high price, high investment in advertising and product, usually have the same tastes and rootedness; the Tubaina by his side. also follow similar strategies).
But why strategic groups emerge?
The strategic groups arise, in general, because: • There
similar goals
• There are similar features
• There are assumptions similes
• Time to market equivalent
• Historias similar
These aspects make the strategies of a group of companies resulting in some respects similar.
Okay, I know because they arise, but it serves to determine the strategic groups?
The usefulness of strategic groups is manifested where there are many competitors, since it facilitates the analysis of conclusions:
• Industrial Sectors
• Scenarios • Difference in profitability
• Four Corners
Obviously such analysis loses precision as long that by focusing on what companies have to like to put them in strategic groups, we lost in the detail level that causes each company is different. But the benefit is that we can better understand what happens in the industrial sector, setting, etc.., When we focus only on strategic groups.
What are the advantages of working with strategic groups?
The strategic groups are a very easy concept to understand, at least in my experience with students, businessmen and managers. Moreover, they are very graphic, as it can make maps of strategic groups, in which it is clear the position of groups in una serie of strategic variables and where can evolve.
Another big advantage is that the maps, summed up a large amount of information, which makes it easier to understand the situation and the conclusions.
What are the disadvantages of the technique?
The first and foremost is that it depends on the analyst, since it is he who, for example, determines the variables that define groups.
Moreover, the strategic groups do not address, specifically, variables such as socioeconomic trends of the environment, legal, environmental, medium, etc.. In short, is a model based on supply rather than demand.
Some of the variables necessary for the realization of the maps, such as sales or profitability, are not always easy to obtain. Finally, as almost all technical analysis, strategic groups give an illusion of certainty.
Implementation of NAP in the model:
Location: groups serve the strategic choice of group where you want to compete, testing strategy, scenarios, four corners, risk analysis, profitability analysis and the determination of competitors (usually competes more with the members of that group, because the strategies are similar.)
temporal Focus: Groups strategic are normally used to analyze the present or the future but can also be used to analyze the past and its evolution.
Simplicity Explanation and Presentation: The model is very easy to understand for its graphic
test of common sense: In the situations mentioned, its use is very appropriate and makes sense for people which are presented
Scope: The strategic groups are successful for analyzing the industry or market

What Can I Use A Zippo Lighter Fluid?
Points Points
Hi,
The continuanção Fausto Fernandes a summary of the lecture I did at the SCIP conference. Meta-analysis in doing mini-summaries of the entire conference, I think it's worth visiting their site to check.
"How to detect and avoid blind spots" was the theme of the panel Adrian Alvarez, a partner at Midas Consulting, the 2nd Latin America SCIP Competititve Intelligence Summit. He said a blind spot is where the trader sees a reality in a superficial way.
The panelist gave an example of the frog in boiling water to illustrate how the 'blindspots' born and grow up without being noticed by the company. "If a frog is put into a pan of boiling water he will jump until you get out, because the heat immediately perceived. But if a frog is put into a pot of cold water he shall surely die, because the change of heat is gradual and its perception is not the same when immersed in boiling water. "
This analogy explains the situation in relation to a company with blind spots. When major and rapid changes in the environment, most companies realize, but there are many changes that happen in everyday life and are not perceived as the directors, as well as the frog becomes accustomed to the gradual change of temperature water (competitive environment).
He said the cause of the blind spots are invalid assumptions, limited vision, overconfidence, and other factors. "To detect such points, the company which should list your items and weaknesses, prepare the matrix, indicate more than one for each hypothesis and test the robustness, "oriented.
Alvarez also said that traders have to deal with blind spots so defensive and offensive. In the first case, to reduce strategic errors and the second to take the points from competitors.
addition to working on these issues, the professionals of IC are shown talking to price-sensitive customers, contact the pioneers and who is not also interview client to know the reasons of this fact and thereby improve their weaknesses. Furthermore, they must analyze the competing they grow fast and observe the different views of the market.
"It's very hard to get 100% of blind spots because they are difficult to detect. All companies have, and a great degree of humility is required to meet them and overcome them, "he added. Adrian Alvarez Lic

Hypothyroidism And Rosacea
Blind Blind and Competitive Intelligence Professional
Still in São Paulo, at the airport waiting for my flight when I wrote this post.
It happened this or that and they do not realize. What happens to them?
But this is normal even if they knew then it would not be blind spots.
we have a conversation yesterday with his friend Fernando de Almeida seems that controversy arose at the conference was that he mentioned (and I agree) that provides intelligence analyst, as it can not be otherwise, your version of history. That is, the analyst also has biases, perceptual problems, etc.. and is also blind spot. There is no perfect analyst, even though I'm Argentinian;)
But why is one who is more likely to have blind spot is who's on top of the organization?
What is happening is that the professional intelligence and actually a good amount of middle management professionals are much closer to market and other stakeholders and thus is less likely to have blind spot, because they speak (or should speak ) often with the different stakeholders of the company so we should have fewer problems with blind spots. Who is on top, usually does not speak with key stakeholders so frequent. But
, CI professionals are immune to the same blind spots?
I think unfortunately not. All the world is subject to confirmation bias (in fact the process of KIT and the chances you have at the beginning of the cycle are high chances that this has happened).
Everybody is also subject to having assessment bias (the analyst is more likely because it is in fact on a daily basis so you have more facts in mind the next). The decision maker, however, is not so tied to assessment bias because he has (or should have) a look of longer-term.
And those are just some of exemplinhos that we can have.
But how do we solve these problems with the biases and points blind, as I said in my talk is the way to focus on what we believe are our strengths and weaknesses, our competitive advantages and the same points of our competitors, because that is where we suffer the most damage.
But one theme is that competitors are not always the usual suspects. For example, who is the main competitor of Bombril the guys who make the same products that it or cookware manufacturers who are increasingly using Teflon and are therefore superfluous to your product?
Edson Ito agree with that good CI professional must have a low ego, but I also realize is that many think they have the absolute truth and I believe that there must be more humble and consider that we only have one version of reality. Poor advice of humility that comes from an Argentinian, right?

AutoMedia flagraram Journalists at the New Beetle in the streets and say:
- The new model will begin to sell in 2012 (see now how it can be is a great advantage to competitors)
- According they "Contrary to all expectations, the New Beetle will grow in the backseat. The idea is that with this, the model gains more space and make it more pleasant to taste male "This information, in my opinion is very important because it actually contradicts what you previously thought, and gives details of the target and the benefits of the product . Aspects of
- design and costs according to the newspaper "The difference is that the new will be in the same platform as the Golf VI. Notice the images that the column "C" earned an extra reinforcement and that the fenders have gotten bigger. "Instead of the Golf IV, who is on the market would know the differences in cost and performance of these models and the information I believe is important.
- According to the newspaper also "Everything indicates that the New Beetle will have a choice of four engines. A 2.0-liter aspirated, 115 hp, a 2.5-liter turbocharged 2.0 liters and the other a 2.0-liter turbodiesel. The Agency AutoMedia also speculated to arise version hibrida.” Ou seja já sabemos também como é que será a potencia do carro e os tipos, eu acho que os concorrentes ficarão agradecidos a revista pela informação fornecida quase de graça e farão os seus próprios KITs (Key Intelligence Topics) para completar as suas avaliações, com certeza eles já devem ter falado com fornecedores, canal de distribuição, etc.
Estamos falando que o jornalista provided information about a new product two years before the product reaches the market. Congratulations to him!
Obviously we're talking about information because he is a journalist and not give us, for example, a measure of the impact of the new features of the New Beetle at GM. Or recommendations to senior management at GM of things to counteract the new features of the New Beetle because these are things for the team's GM. The world is not perfect, and still have to work;)
I think that this sample also the need for counter-intelligence, how did this journalist had reported and caught the car on the street?
Nobody did anything to protect themselves there? At least now, because if you provide this information to someone with the car out onto the street (I believe that until near the plant) is a matter of luck not getting caught ...
The friend Fernando has come and I'll drink some beers and eat pizza. The source of information was the Yahoo.com.br http://www.webmotors.com.br/wmpublicador/yahooNoticiaConteudo.vxlpub?hnid=44747
